Assistant Manager / Stylist & Floor LeaderDrybar Wheaton is looking for a confident, driven, people-first Assistant Manager / Stylist & Floor Leader who can do more than deliver a great blowout.This is a hands-on leadership role for a licensed stylist who loves being behind the chair but is also ready to help lead a team, drive performance, protect the client experience, and keep the shop running smoothly.When the Operating Partner or Manager is not on the floor, you are one of the people the team looks to.You'll help set the tone, coach in the moment, solve problems quickly, celebrate wins, and make sure Drybar standards are being met from the first appointment of the day through close.This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow in salon leadership while continuing to build their skills and clientele behind the chair.What You'll OwnLead The FloorServe as a visible floor leader and point person when senior leadership is not presentKeep the team focused, productive, positive, and client-ready throughout the shiftDelegate opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and operational responsibilitiesAddress issues in real time instead of allowing small problems to become bigger onesLead by example in professionalism, punctuality, appearance, communication, and teamworkHelp maintain appropriate floor coverage based on bookings and business needsSupport schedule adjustments, breaks, call-offs, and shift coverage when neededDeliver The Drybar ExperiencePerform consistent, high-quality Drybar blowouts and stylesWork toward efficient service timing while never sacrificing quality or client careCreate the kind of experience that turns first-time guests into repeat ButtercupsHelp ensure every client receives a warm welcome, thoughtful consultation, beautiful service, and strong checkout experienceSupport bridal, special occasion, textured-hair, and other specialty styling needs based on training and qualificationDrive Membership GrowthBarfly memberships are one of the most important drivers of our business.You will:Confidently introduce memberships to eligible clientsHelp the team understand how to naturally talk about membership benefitsCoach stylists and front desk team members on membership conversationsSupport membership conversion and retention goalsLook for opportunities to reconnect with clients before they cancel or lapseCelebrate strong performers while helping coach those who need additional supportGrow Retail & Average TicketRecommend Drybar products based on the client's hair, style, and goalsIntroduce appropriate add-ons and upgrades during the appointmentHelp educate the team on product knowledge and selling without being pushyCoach toward stronger retail attachment and average-ticket performanceHelp keep retail displays stocked, organized, clean, and client-readyCoach & Develop The TeamThis is not a "stand behind the desk and supervise" position.We expect our leaders to actively coach.Provide real-time feedback when you see opportunitiesReinforce Drybar service and hospitality standardsHelp stylists improve speed, consultation skills, product recommendations, rebooking, and client retentionRecognize strong performance and celebrate team winsHelp identify training or continuing education needsSupport newer team members as they move from training into confident floor performanceHelp create a culture where accountability and encouragement can exist at the same timeProtect The Client ExperienceMonitor client feedback, reviews, and in-shop concernsStep in quickly when a client experience is not going as expectedHandle difficult conversations with professionalism and good judgmentWork to resolve concerns before they escalate whenever possibleCommunicate recurring client or operational issues to may:Represent the shop at local events, pop-ups, school programs, partnerships, and community activationsHelp turn event traffic into future appointments and membershipsBuild relationships with nearby businesses and organizationsSupport promotional days, membership events, model calls, and in-shop experiencesBe comfortable speaking about Drybar, our services, and what makes our Wheaton shop specialWhat We're Looking ForActive Illinois cosmetology license required2+ years of experience behind the chair preferredPrevious salon leadership, assistant manager, shift lead, educator, or team lead experience strongly preferredStrong blowout and styling skillsConfidence coaching peers and holding others accountableAbility to lead without needing constant directionComfortable discussing memberships, retail products, add-ons, and rebookingExcellent client communication and conflict-resolution skillsStrong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize during busy shiftsReliable, organized, and solution-orientedComfortable reviewing performance numbers and helping the team work toward goalsAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, events, and
